launch team lessons
For the past few months I have been a part of the launch team for Everybody, Always. So what did that mean? For the most part I was a part of a Facebook group and I was given the first five chapters of the book to read. Within the Facebook group, we were given "challenges" such as writing a review or sharing a post. Sometimes we would be asked to share something on Twitter or Instagram. Sometimes we were just asked to share things within the group. It was a great experience, and I'm hoping to be part of more launch teams.
To be honest, I can't stand the types of posts that are obviously trying to get you to share them. Pictures of puppies with sad eyes and words that say something like "no one will share my picture, will you?" usually elicit an eye roll and a hard pass, even though the puppies are adorable. So why did I love this experience of blatantly being asked to share someone else's posts?
Part of it was because I really was excited about this book. I loved Bob's first book and I loved what I'd seen of this book. But aside from that, the more I was a part of that launch team, the more convinced I became that we all need a launch team. We need people who will rally around us, who will be excited for what we're doing, who will encourage us and offer feedback, who will be on our side. It was amazing to see such a large and diverse group come together around someone else for these purposes. And it was breathtaking to watch this group come together to support one another as well.
I'm excited about future launch teams for other books. But more than that, I'm excited about being a part of launch teams in people's lives. I hope that we can be a part of each other's launch teams. I hope that I can be an encourager. I hope that others can count on me to be excited for them and to {appropriately} brag on them. I hope that I can offer loving feedback and I hope that people will know that I'm on their side. Who's launch team will you be a part of?
