Hi.

Start a revolution with me! Let's be bold! Let's love others in the crazy way that Christ did! Let's love each other unconditionally! Let's be real! Let's encourage each other! Let's do it all to glorify God!

Laughing is one of my favorite things to do and sometimes that's all you can do. (If you read any of that in Buddy the Elf tone, bonus points).

When you're staring down a kitchen covered in sprinkles surrounding a 3 year old and a jar of peanut butter. When you've just discovered that your 2 year old has taken off all his clothes and all of his brother's clothes and put them in the toilet and then TP'd your bathroom. When you discover your little girl covered in your favorite lipstick. When your seven year old pees off the upstairs landing. When your 2 year old locks himself in a room in your new house and you have to sledge hammer the doorknob off. Or when your 5 year old spray paints your new 15 passenger van because he really wants it to be a race car.

Laugh where they can't see you.

When the basement floods...again because "someone" left the bathroom sink running. When it's so cold outside that a window spontaneously breaks. When pictures are drawn on walls. When the freezer breaks.

Laugh, because it's only stuff.

When you realize it was your day to bring snacks to preschool. When you realize that you have finally gone and forgotten a kid somewhere. When you see the lunch that should be with your 8 year old sitting on the counter. When panic strikes you because you realize that you were supposed to be somewhere 15 minutes ago. When your mother comes out of your own mouth.

Laugh at yourself, because as some amused person has said,

Blessed is the man that can laugh at himself, for he will never cease to be amused!

When suddenly life changes. When these bodies of ours fail. When jobs are suddenly gone. When marriages struggle. When we can't believe our teenager just said that, or did that. When we move away from everything we've ever known. When loved ones are no longer with us.

Cry. And then laugh. And then cry some more. Laugh at the possibilities for the future, laugh at the memories and mourn what's lost. But laugh again, because you know who holds the future and you can be secure in His love and His plans for you.

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.
— Proverbs 31:25

Sometimes it's hard to find the laughter though, so if the pictures above didn't give you a laugh, here are a few laughs!

  • My 4 year old recently started calling our seven year old dog Steve. That's not his name. After a few days, we realized that Wonderhubs calls the dog his trusty steed, or as my 4 year old hears it, his trust Steve!
  • Every single night this week when we've watched the Olympics in Rio Wonderhubs jokes that he's glad they're showing live swimming and not dead swimming. I laugh every. single. time. #dadjokes
  • Just do yourself a favor and go watch some Tim Hawkins.
  • Or look up Brian Regan's video on big families.
